Chen Changfeng, author of Song Yin Ge Poem, was a poetess in late Qing Dynasty. Shen Daokuan, a cultural celebrity at that time, invented the “Yan Ling Wen Zi” Qin. From Shen Daokuan making the Qin to Chen Changfeng appreciating the Qin, many people were involed in these activities, most of whom were active cultural celebrities during that period in Hunan. In late Qing Dynasty, a society when females were generally considered inferior to males, it’s very rare and commendable that Chen Changfeng and some other females could take part in the cultural activities of male celebrities.
