Abstract:Wu Touwen is a fairly competent poet and researcher of poetry among the Hunan-born poets. He began to write poetry at the end of 1980. His early poems feature focused upon youth reflection in country setting and carried images of Chinese culture. The year of 2003 marked a turning point in his poetry writing career. Concentrating on human affairs and human life, his poems put up the form of irony and parody. They revealed the absurdity of existence and expressed the feeling of loneliness and emptiness in life.
