“Tiao Xiang” is originally a primitive ritual for sacrificing the ancestor Pangu of “Wa Xiang People” in Yuanling county of Hunan province, which later developed into a grand folk custom activity for cerebrating good harvest this year and praying favorable weather next year. “Tiao Xiang is a comprehensive humanistic art phenomenon integrated with drama, music, dance and religion. It has rich aesthetic connotation and its ultimate aim is the pursuit of humanistic spirit.
