Lu Xun’s family ethical thoughts owe much to such ideas as Evolution theory, individualism and humanism. His evolutionist thoughts originate directly from Yan Fu’s influence. The direct study of Evolution theory materials during his studying in Japan and the influence of Zhang Taiyan’s “The two-way Evolution” theory show that Lu Xun’s evolutionist thought of family ethics is featured with a focus on youth development, spiritual enhancement and present involvement. Therefore, Lu Xun holds that parents should change their traditional way of family education and give freedom to their children.
