Abstract:Bohemia movement has occurred since the 19th century, which is the artist lifestyle and spiritual beliefs. Since the twentieth century, the New York City in United States, with its huge modern city charm, replaced Paris and become one Bohemia activity center in the mid twentieth century. Bohemian life and its aesthetic spirit has retained and gained new development in the Greenwich Village who is the representative of the Bohemian space. By the combination of these two kinds of cultural heritage in United States and the avant-garde after world war Ⅱ, the Greenwich Village artists made “Let art transform lives”, the core concept of century Bohemian, promoted as a whole, has become the earliest culture conception of post-modernism.
