In view of weak circumstances of modern Chinese and the traditional thoughts of “self-improvement”, “military harmony”, Xiangbao Daily absorbed the western modern diplomatic concept. It proposed the equal diplomatic thoughts of “abiding by contracts in order to keep harmonious relationship with barbarians”, the balanced diplomatic thoughts of “allying barbarians to beating back barbarians”, the powerful diplomatic thoughts of “improving ourselves to control barbarians”. Tak Xiangbao Daily for the communication platform, these thoughts were spreaded to the late Qing government and the public. These diplomatic thoughts have played an enlightening and promoting role for inspiring the public wisdom and eventually forming Chinese modern diplomatic concept.
