Abstract:Through the comparison of the voiced sounds in Yongzhou dialect, one of the leading branches of Hunan dialects, and those of Japanese, we find that there are many similarities. First, they both have voiced consonants, and the ancient full voiced sounds are all voiced in Japanese. Second, they both have nasal voiced sounds and half-voiced sounds. Third, they both exists the language phenomenon that one sound may be voiced differently or voiced and unvoiced at the same time.
