Abstract:Researchers at home and aboard have studied the verbal humor from the cognitive perspective but the description and explication about humor might not be sufficient to decipher the mystery of all the specific humorous discourses. Combining the information marker with the Relevance Theory is a good way to explain the humorous discourses. One the one hand, we can divide the addressees into two levels, the in-discourse level and the out-discourse level, and find the differences of their reasoning contextual effects, so as to provide a rich interpretation of humorous discourses. On the other hand, combining with the Relevance Theory, the information markers in humorous discourse can trigger the “reasoning reset”, and reveal the addressee's aesthetic cognition in appreciating the humorous discourses.
