Abstract:The most harmonious unity of elegance and vulgarity, two seemingly contradictory aesthetic idiosyncrasies, has been presented in the life of TAO Yuanming, a famous poet in Eastern Jin Dynasty in ancient China. TAO Yuanming resigned and returned to his rural life which is composed by his harmonious and Confucius value orientation, feeling of contenting in poverty and devoting to things spiritual, life arts of reading, poem and music, poetic writing of rurality and nature. All of these represent TAO Yuanming's special aesthetic life realm where simplicity implies elegance, vulgarity embodies overpass.
