Abstract:The novel Nineteen Eighty-Four not only reveals the totalitarian politics in depth, it also presents Winston's three steps of anti-totalitarianism: Thought crime, physical rebellion and participation in secret revolutionary organization to try to overthrow the rule of totalitarianism. Although all these rebellions have been complete failure, they manifest the power of human nature. Orwell has also broken down simple worship of revolutions. He suggests that there may be latent internal totalitarian logic in modern revolutions.
