China's foreign language circle's research of linguistics gained stable progress in 2010. Great achievements can be found in cognitive linguistics, functional linguistics, typology, contrastive linguistics, translation, philosophy of language, foreign language education and language acquisition and so on. Meanwhile, three main problems still existed. Firstly, the idea of creation was not fulfilled thoroughly in relative researches. Secondly, the combination of different theories has already become the trend of study, while the researchers who could realize it were very few. Lastly, representative research findings of high quality were rare also. Looking into the 12th Five -Year Plan, the idea of creation should be implemented in every step of linguistic researches in foreign language circle.
