Mao Ze-dong and Kang You-wei， as passing on knowledge of traditional culture with ambitious ideals， shaped their own social idealities by comparing and selecting Chinese and western cultures， new and old ideologies. From the source of thought， Mao Ze-dong's social ideality are similar to Kang You-wei's， as both were influenced by Chinese traditional culture and impacted by Western thoughts. However， there are differences between the two in the main source of thought，methods for understanding problems and attitude towards Chinese and western cultures.
