Passive voice is a typical grammatical phenomenon in the English texts of science and technology. From the angle of information transmission, using passive voice in EST serves many functions, such as highlighting the theme, transmitting the information and making the text more cohesive.These functions of passive voice and its translation will be discussed in this paper.
