Abstract:Targeting at the issue of intense homogenization in brands and functions of aromatherapy diffusers in the current market, an innovative design of the “Aroma Silk Road” was conducted from three perspectives including brands, technology, and product appearance. A series of product images including “cloud mountains”, “Anka”, “secret land” and “Chloris” was designed to show the regional characteristics of countries along the “Belt and Road Initiative”. Those aromatherapy diffusers operated with 5 V voltage ultrasonic atomizing tablet, equipped with water level sensor. In order to optimize the original design of “secret land”, its air-out section was designed in the shape of the mountain’s cavity, with a water baffle shaped as a small bean with the scale. The body of the machine was designed into the shape of drum, and its draft angle was larger than 90°. The “secret land” has been successfully put on market and won the 2020 Red Dot Design Award.
