Intelligent packaging technology has drawn the attention of both academia and industry. Intelligent packaging technology and its application were reviewed. The intelligent packaging and its system were emphasized, and the sensor technology, indicator and radio frequency identification device (RFID) to achieve intelligent packaging were analyzed. The intelligent packaging industry and the future development of intelligent packaging were briefly introduced.
