Abstract:As a representative of national intangible cultural heritage inheritors, Su Tianmei’s Dong brocade was rich in tapestry work patterns. There were animals, plants, geometric patterns and texts, objects, patterns and other pattern types of gods which embodied the Dong people’s reverence and love to ancestors, gods, nature, land and life. The pattern shapes illustrated pictographic and ideographic coexistence, while the color in either colored or plain brocade were distributed harmoniously and well matched with warm and cool tone while the compositions were tightly structured with distinctive orders. Su Tianmei’s Dong brocade art retained its unique national charm, which made Tongdao Dong Brocade pattern original in China’s tapestry art.
