Abstract:Traditional Zen culture delivered an expression of state of mind and life realm and its aesthetic concept had profound influence on industrial product design, which resulted in the formation of industrial design style with a strong Zen meaning by reflecting a unique aesthetic value. In the ideology of "integration of nature and man", product designers followed "the Tao of nature" by using simple, unadorned and static technique of expression to create profound Zen connotation in products. In the aspect of ecological design, designers emphasized on recovering one's original simplicity, returning to nature, and striving to make the product design environmental friendly after meeting functional requirements. In the design style of simple beauty, designers used simple, inartificial and natural technique of expression to reflect corresponding design style.
