Abstract:It is not uncommon for people to have excessive intake of edible oil although it is harmful to human health. The main causes involve environmental factors, subjective factors and objective factors which reflect the lack of social cognition and deficiency of various public media, wrong personal habits of oil intake, weak health awareness and design flaw in edible oil bottle. For edible oil containers, warning elements could be put into design for the group of people who have not formed right consciousness of health. Barrier design method could be used for the group who have the knowledge but still refuse to restrain from it. Quantitative design method could be employed for those who have the awareness of health and are willing to put this concept into appilication. Moreover, edible oil health indicator system could also be adopted as an additional design.
