Abstract:On the basis of inheriting traditional Japanese culture, Japanese contemporary avant-garde artist Takashi Murakami constantly imitates and learns from Western cultures. His works are the perfect fusion of oriental traditions and western civilization. In an increasingly fickle modern society, the arts also trend to cater to the public’s vulgar taste. Takashi Murakami integrates the elite culture into the popular culture, and has found a bridge of communication between the popular culture and the elegant art. Meanwhile, when it is assumed that the work of art should be noble and pure, it is Takashi Murakami who takes a commercial attitude towards the art creation, and creates an intersection between art creation and commerce.
