“Design” is a newly born substance from industrial revolution, which is generated to solve the problem of incompatibility of “small-scale production” with the “mass production” from the very beginning. “Design” should be proved as the third category of wisdom and ability for human to survive in addition to science and art. Nowadays, with economic globalization, expansion of technology potential, localization of demands and personalization of consumption, the original responsibility of design is distorted while the revolution of future lifestyle is now being prearranged. Manufacturing driven by design will be the trend of Chinese manufacturing and will promote China to develop into a great power in manufacturing and design from a pure big manufacturing country.
