The laws and regulations concerning marine cargo transport packaging in China are still in an imperfect condition, while the foreign trade companies lacked the consciousness and knowledge in cargo packaging. The cases of claim for marine cargo damage happened frequently due to improper packaging. In order to solve the issues of cargo damages resulted from improper packaging fundamentally and promote foreign trade business of China, it is necessary to improve the legal system regarding marine cargo transport and packaging and reinforce corresponding administrative supervision.
