The new-year wood engraving painting in Zhuxian town has distinct characteristics. Its cultural symbol of primitive and exaggerated art image, dynamic composition, romantic form of expression, auspicious and clever use of color are all the features implying the operating principles of plane visual language. With the native culture features, its aesthetic ideology and composition methods enriched the language expression in modem graphic design. The research on folk culture in Zhuxian town combined with national art style in modern graphic design can not only publicize national culture but also promote healthy developments in graphic design and diversification and furthermore, the development of China’s graphic design.
