The Internet technology with 5G as the representative has been gradually put into formal commercial use in the civil field of China, so China has correspondently put forward higher level requirements for the professionalism and information literacy of physical education teachers and issued a number of policies to achieve these requirements. With the strong driving force of 5G, physical education teachers must integrate their professional developmen with 5G in a deep way. The interaction, adaptability and flexibility of 5G-empowered era have innovative effects on the professional development, learning style and learning time and space of traditional physical education teachers. Building an intelligent professional learning community for physical education teachers has become an inevitable choice to improve their professional quality. On the basis of clarifying the related concepts, this paper analyzes the necessity and feasibility of constructing the intelligent professional learning community for physical education teachers in 5G-empowered era , and put forwards five paths to construct the community, namely the“subject-expert-teacher”intelligent learning platform path, the online plus offline sustainable development path , the dual path of inter-school cooperation and“course sharing”, the establishment of intelligent sports virtual organizations with different goals and the construction of virtual classrooms in 5G era, which provide solutions for improving the professional quality of Chinese physical education teachers in 5G era.
