It has achieved important results in the Hunan foreign literature studies since 1978, including the study of writers and their works in the Russian and Soviet literature, European literature and Oriental literature, the creation methods, the school of thoughts, the comparison and communication of Chinese and foreign literature and the writing of foreign literature history and so on. These achievements have pushed on the Hunan foreign literature studies, and many of them influenced the whole country greatly.
