Abstract:As a way of communication, body language includes facial expressions, gestures, and body movements. In conversation, body language plays an important role in repeating, complementing, substituting, regulating and negating utterance meaning. It is one of the important parts in non-verbal communication. It mainly explodes the complementing, substituting, and negating utterance function under the view of face theory. And considering these utterance functions can mitigate or strengthen the face effect.
