Abstract:From the perspective of Diaspora Criticism, Eileen Chang's None of Teenage Classmates are Base-Bred manifests distinctive features of diasporic literature. Away from homeland, Eileen Chang continued to view life in a pessimistic manner. Based on past experiences, she wove reminiscence and fiction into her works, which displays unappreciated people's yearning for getting over identity crisis and reconstructing self-esteem. Her depiction also reveals her contradictory feelings of cultural identity and identity construction.
