The visual modal metaphor in the form of typography in Cummings’ visual poem“l(a” fulfills its communcative function done by language through displaying the particular social relation between the producer, the viewer and the object represented .It completes the interpersonal metafunction on the level of its relationship with metonymy and metaphor of language.
