Abstract:From the perspective of eco-theology, Shakespeare's play Macbeth is a writing result of the collision between Heathendom theology and Christian theology. The magic, the witchcraft goddess Hecate, and the three witches highlight the chaotic natural world and the evil animal world in their call for destructive forces of nature and conversion, eventually being external representations of cruel nature, which contrast sharply with what Christianity calls for: order, harmony, and benevolent nature. Thus Shakespeare's the potential suspect of Christian theology is conveyed, a theological dialogue between Hecate and Christian God formed, and the mysterious veil of recombined values of the drama uncovered in the conflict between the two theological concepts.
